Carolina First
Carolina First partners with State Housing programs, Public Housing Authorities,
local government and other nonprofits to provide affordable housing and homeownership
opportunities for low- and moderate-income families. We are also very active members
of the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of Atlanta’s community investment programs.
Through the FHLB First-time Homebuyer Program (FHP), the bank provided over $474,000
in down payment and closing cost assistance to 49 low- and moderate-income borrowers
wanting to purchase a home for the first time. Through the FHP and other affordable
mortgage programs, the bank has provided over 113 families with affordable mortgage
financing totaling over $11.6 million.
Mercantile Bank
Mercantile Bank partners with the Florida State Housing program, Florida Association
of Community Development Corporations, local government and other nonprofits to
provide affordable housing and homeownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income
borrowers wanting to purchase a home. The bank has worked with several local nonprofits
in the provision of homebuyer educational workshops and seminars to assist qualified
first-time homebuyers move through the home buying process with ease. Under our
affordable mortgage programs, the bank has provided over 112 families with affordable
mortgage financing totaling over $12 million.
